2013 Spring Fashion

This is my first official blog post for 24/7 City Secrets. My name is Kristen Amato and I will be writing about all things fashion. Since I am a jewelry designer, I figured it was only fitting to kick off the blog with an accessories post. I know a lot of us read about the trends in national magazines or get our fashion fix online, but I don’t always feel as though those venues write for the average fashionable gal. Sure, I am all about studs and spikes on shoes, handbags, and even on the shoulders of blouses, but do I think it is realistic to wear a silk blouse with spikes jetting out of the shoulders? Probably not. I appreciate those that can pull it off, but it is not something I would actually wear. So, my focus will be on wearable fashion and the trends that are easy to break down and wear in real life.

There are many trends for spring and we will get to them one by one, but one of the biggest trends for spring (yes, I know it seems so far away, but it will be here before you know it!) is black and white or anything the has a huge impact of contrast. This is actually a great trend because black and white can be worn in January and February and it is still on point with the fashion world. Never fear, pastels are a trend too, but let’s get back to those in March when the end of winter seems within reach. Black and white has shown up on graphic handbags, but also in jewelry on large statement necklaces and earrings. Some of you may be thinking that black and white never goes out of style….and you are correct, but this spring it is stepping into the spotlight.

Until the next post……
