BaconFest – You don’t have to wait until Spring
Even though the actual BaconFest event isn’t until April (20th, to be exact… mark you calendars), you can satisfy your smoky pork fat craving now. Starting Tuesday, November 27th, several restaurants around Chicago are putting on BaconFest Satellite Dinners.
The dinners range in price and number of courses (they’re all prix fix) but one thing’s for sure: you’ll get your bacon fix. You’ll find things like Soy Cured and Smoked Pig Face Gyoza with Shitake-Bacon Ponzu from Chef Troy Graves at the Red Door as well as Chef Perry Hendrix’s garlic sausage & braised bacon with braised cabbage & apple at Maison. Most are even including a cocktail & hors d’ oeuvres hour with bacon oriented snacks before dinner.
Here’s the line up:
Tuesday, November 27th – Hearty Restaurant
$65 | 5 Courses (Aperitif & cocktail included)
Monday, December 3rd — Maison Brasserie
$80 | 4 Courses with pairings (And live music!)
Monday, December 10th – Red Door
$55 | 5 Courses (Aperitif & cocktail included)
Monday, January 14th – Three Aces
TBD (Winner of last year’s “Most Creative Use of Bacon Award”)
